Results of the Technique Textbook Vote

The sample

The sample consisted of 30 participants who were self selecting. Their reported locations were as follows:

The question asked of the participants was “Vote for your Favourite Technique Textbook”

Method

The participants were asked to score 14 radiography textbooks from 1-5.  They were able to indicate any that they had not read. They were also asked to provide the name of any other books they thought should be considered. The books were presented to the participants in the following order:

Conclusion

·         Overall, the most read book was Ballinger and Frank’s Merrills Atlas with 77% of all respondents having read it.

·         The most read pocket book was Ballinger and Frank’s Pocket guide (the companion to Merrils) with 73%.

·         The highest scoring book overall was Bontrager’s Textbook of radiographic positioning. The most common score attributed to this text was 5/5, and the average score was 4.5

·         The highest scoring pocket book was Moller’s pocket atlas of radiographic positioning. All those who scored this text gave it 4/5.
