ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR RADIOGRAPHY TRAINING

Radiography Entry Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum academic entry requirements for degree courses in radiography are the same as for all degree courses:-
Three GCSEs grades A-C and two GCE A levels, or equivalent.

Before applying for a course, it is a good idea to visit a radiography or radiotherapy department at a local hospital to get a good impression of what the work involves.

ALTERNATIVE ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

BTEC National Certificate and Diplomas in relevant subjects can also be accepted as meeting entry requirements. Entry is also possible through validated access courses.

Individual radiography education centres may require additional or more specific qualifications, for instance science subjects at A level. For candidates with Advanced GNVQ/GSVQ''s they may require a merit or distinction in specific subjects.

It is advisable to contact the institutions directly to clarify individual cases, alternatively more detailed information is given in Radiography Education and Training - Directory of Courses, available from the College of Radiographers.
