Radiological Report : US Abdominal Aorta
:
The maximum A.P. internal diameter of the abdominal aorta is
7.4cms at umbilicus. Mural thrombus reduces the internal
diameter to 4.9cms.
Radiological Report : CT Aortic
Angiogram :
The patient is known to have an aortic aneurysm. There is a
very large left paravertebral haematoma with an obvious
narrow necked leak from the left lateral aspect of the
aneurysm which at the point of leak measures maximally 8.8cm
in diameter. The haematoma measures 15 x 10 cm in size. The
aneurysm extends from the renal arteries to the level of the
bifurcation and has increased in size significantly from the
CT of 16/7/08. Both renal arteries are identified and there
does appear to be normal enhancement of both kidneys. No
other significant abnormality to preclude surgery is
evident.
CONCLUSION :
There is an 8.8cm aneurysm extending from the level of the
renal arteries to the aortic bifurcation which has an
obvious leak from it's left lateral side and large
paravertebral/perirenal haematoma in keeping with acute
rupture. |
