Radiological Report : MRI Pelvis :
The scan confirms the presence of an
8.5cm mixed solid cystic mass lying centrally in the pelvis. This
lies separate from the uterus and from its position I think this
structure may well be the bladder rather than an ovarian mass.
The only way to be certain however would
be to repeat the ultrasound with the patient catheterised and to
introduce fluid at the time of the scan. The mass is obviously
neoplastic with tumour extending into the pelvic fat and there is a
necrotic nodal mass with a superoinferior diameter of 3.2cm adjacent
to the right iliac vessel.
There is gross right hydronephrosis and
hydroureter and minor dilatation of the left renal pelvis and ureter.
The uterus is separate from the mass lesion and appears normal. The
ovaries are not identified.
Overall I think this is likely to be a
bladder neoplasm rather than gynaecological. A repeat ultrasound
scan as described or even cystoscopy in the first instance is
recommended. |
