Brain_Cerebellar abscess_CT_MRI

CT Head With Contrast :

Comparison is made with the previous scan, 02.02.07. The right cerebellar abscess currently measures 14 x 9 mm diameter. Measurements on the previous scan were approximately 12 x 10 mm diameter. Within the error of measurement, there is little overall change. No new lesion elsewhere.

Conclusion: The right cerebellar abscess is of similar size (within a few mm) compared with the scan of 02.02.07.

MRI Head With Gadolinium :

The appearances here are broadly comparable with the CT scan 8 days ago. Within the right middle cerebellar peduncle and adjacent cerebellar hemisphere there are two ring enhancing lesions, 13 mm and 19 mm diameter with some parenchymal enhancement adjacent and extensive vasogenic oedema in the right cerebellar hemisphere extending into the right side of the pons. There is a further small enhancing nodule about 7 mm diameter lying medially in the right parietal lobe.
