Report : CT Petrous Temporal Bones :
Soft tissue
density material is seen filling the attic of the right ear. Similar
density material fills much of the middle ear cavity. The ear drum
is not clearly demonstrated and the ossicles appear largely eroded.
Soft tissue density material extends into the antrum of the mastoid.
The anterior portion of the lateral semicircular canal is suspicious
of erosion. The tegmen tympani appears intact although its inner
margin is irregular. Within the left ear, some soft tissue density
material is seen within the mastoid antrum but the middle ear cavity
is patent.
CONCLUSION :
Appearances support a cholesteatoma of the attic within the right
ear. |
