Thoracic aorta aneurysm

Radiological Report : XR Chest :

No previous radiograph. Tortuous thoracic aorta but I am afraid I cannot entirely explain the appearances along the right heart border. There is some eventration of the right hemidiaphragm but no obvious lung lesion apart from chronic interstitial change.

2 CT Scan Report CT Scan

The thoracic aorta is ecstatic* and atheromatous throughout. In the lower thorax it becomes markedly aneurysmal measuring approximately 6.5cm. This aneurysm extends over approximately 9.0cm in the lower thoracic aorta down to the diaphragm. The aorta is a little ectatic as it passes through the hemidiaphragm, and becomes aneurysmal again in the infrarenal abdominal aorta. Here the aorta dilates to approximately 4.2cm with the aneurysm extending over 3.3cm. It stops short of the aortic bifurcation. The pelvis has not been imaged. No focal pulmonary or liver abnormality seen.

IMPRESSION: Chest x-ray abnormalities are accounted for by a large tortuous lower thoracic aortic aneurysm. Generalised aortic ectasia with small infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm also. No other significant abnormality seen.

Radiological Report : NM Renogram MAG3 :

Renal perfusion and function appear less good in the left kidney than right kidney with the left side contributing 38% and right side 62% to divided renal function. There is normal wash out even before Frusemide administration although some pooling of tracer is noted in the right renal pelvis.

Typical - Post operative images - EVAR as demonstrated
